Providence Cardiovascular Lab Setback Analysis
Analysis: Energy model and Energy Trust of Oregon (ETO) Technical Analysis Report. Analysis for occupancy-based airflow setback in five cardiovascular laboratories served by a recirculating VAV air handler with hydronic reheat.
OpenStudio / EnergyPlus model of the cardiovascular laboratory suite and air handling system, including economizer, preheat, humidification, dehumidification, and VAV reheat controls
Determination of minimum unoccupied air change rates from room air change certification to maintain ASHRAE 170 positive pressure relationships
Development of occupancy schedules based on lab procedure windows, with setback during nights, weekends, and holidays
Evaluation of first cost and simple payback for:
Implement occupancy-scheduled VAV minimum airflow setback, reducing supply air from 15-23 ACH occupied to 6-10 ACH unoccupied
